‘Automation for Good’ – the software robot at work for charity!
The Netherlands has over three hundred recognized Charities(CBF, 2021), together accounting for 2.56 billion euros in income per year. This income must, of course, benefit the specific charity for which the money was raised as much as possible. Whether it’s clinic clowns, people with muscle diseases, war children, endangered panda bears or children with cancer.
Fundraising income under pressure: cost efficiency therefore increasingly important
Fundraisers have been experiencing declining fundraising revenues for years. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, revenues fell even harder, as many events and fundraising activities could not take place. Research by Radboud University and CBF(Supervision of Charities, 2021) shows a drop of as much as 37% in one-time donations.
Charities cannot simply absorb such a sharp drop in income. It is, however, an extra reason to take a closer look at where savings can be made on implementation costs without sacrificing effectiveness.
Fundraisers spend over 100 million euros annually on management and administration costs
Research shows that 4% of all income, or over €100 million, is spent annually on management and administration costs. Administrative processes at fundraising institutions are often complex and massive. The level of automation at many institutions is not yet optimal. Many tasks still involve a lot of manual work, for example processing research results, mutations in files of members and donors, responses to marketing campaigns, gifts and donations. An ideal opportunity to use the software robot!

Partner of the UiPath Bridge Program: ‘Automation For Good’
At Tacstone Technology, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is of paramount importance. We were therefore immediately enthusiastic about UiPath’s ‘Automation For Good’ initiative. In this initiative, meanwhile developed into the UiPath Bridge ProgramUiPath partners use their knowledge and expertise to help non-profit organizations improve and automate their (back office) processes. We often see that non-profits do not independently have the knowledge and resources to enable digital transformation. The UiPath Bridge Program aims to bridge the gap between institutions and the capabilities of new technology.
Tacstone Technology is one of the first participants in the UiPath Bridge Program. Our commitment is to establish and implement RPA projects at nonprofit organizations.
Practice case: 100,000 man hours saved at The New York Foundling
A successful example of the UiPath Bridge Program is The New York Foundling: one of the largest child welfare nonprofit organizations in the United States. By automating the data entry process with RPA, as many as 100,000 hours are saved here annually. Read more.
